FM Radio Apps for Galaxy Gear S3 or Any Other Samsung Smartwatch

Here is the list of FM Radio apps which you can find on the Samsung Galaxy App Store under the watch section. From this list, some of them are pretty decent while some are just okayish. You might want to personally try out this since it largely depends on personal preferences.

iGear Radio (Free/Pro) – Best Radio App for Smartwatches

Galaxy

This is hands down the best Radio app which you can find on the Galaxy App store. This app is designed by a developer who goes by the name Pavel Slaby. The application UI is very simple, easy to use and all you have to do is scroll down either by touch screen or by rotating bezels to explore stations. Speaking of stations, there are country-specific radio stations which include almost all the country. Sadly, there are no specific Indian radio channels, which is a bummer.

To enjoy every single feature of this app, you would have to shell out some money to buy the iGear Radio Pro version. With the Pro version, you will be able to access thousands of country-specific radio channels. You will also get access to Latest Played and Top 10 list on the app.

For Indian users out there, No! iHeart Radio is not available. Coming to the UI, iHeart Radio is much better in terms of design when compared with the iGear. The simple yet elegant black color UI with a pinch of red accent gives you impressive UI experience.

Galaxy

At the time of writing this article, iHeart Radio is available for users who are currently residing in the United States. It is worth noting that unlike the Play Store, VPN does not work with Samsung’s Galaxy App store.

NRJ Radio (Free)

Samsung Galaxy S3 Apps Store

Another decent radio app on the Galaxy App store goes by the name NRJ Radio. For those who’re not aware, NRG or Energy is a popular French radio station. The NRJ Radio app comes with more than 500 web radios offering hits in various genres like Pop, Dance, RnB, Rap, Rock and many more. The best part about this app is that it’s free and gives you access to all the NRJ web stations with no limitation on the number of tracks. You can listen to all the music hits for free with unlimited repeats.

Apart from these three, there are tons of other FM Radio apps on Galaxy App store but they require a companion app on a smartwatch to work. On top of that, some apps can only let you control the music playback instead of listening to tracks on your watch itself.

Web-based FM Radio for Galaxy Gear S3 or Any Other Samsung Smartwatch

As mentioned earlier, there aren’t that wide variety of FM Radio based apps on Galaxy Apps store. If for some reasons, you are not able to get your hands on the above-mentioned apps or don’t want to spend money for the pro version, then there is one thing which you can still do. You can use the web browser on the smartwatch to access web-based FM radio apps.

If you don’t have any web browser installed on your Galaxy Gear S3, then you can install the Gear Browser by a developer named Changyong Jeon.

Assuming that you have installed the browser, let’s have a look at the popular online radio websites.

iHeart Radio (Website)

If iHeart Radio official application is not available on your region, then you can go ahead and use the iHeart Radio official website on Gear Browser. It works swiftly and you will be able to access all the radio channels without facing any major issues. As usual, the free variant is limited in terms of features.

With a Pro subscription, you will be able to do unlimited music track skips, access millions of songs and offline listening. Unlike an app, you can access the website irrespective of your country or region.

Samsung Galaxy Gear Apps

Radio Paradise

One of my daily go-to Radio services is Radio Paradise. The fact that you can also use it on your smartwatch with the help of the web browser is an additional advantage. Radio Paradise is a completely free web-based Radio service with features like Play History, Search option, Track playlist and much more.

Hindi Radio Sites such as Gaana, Prime Music, Raaga

If you’re more into Bollywood or other Hindi songs, then you might be looking for Hindi specific radio stations. Although these are not Radio stations per se, you can still enjoy Hindi music hits from popular music streaming websites. You can access almost all the popular web-based Music Streaming services like Prime Music, Gaana or Raaga using the Gear or any other browser on Samsung’s smartwatch.

With a web browser on your smartwatch, you can access almost any web-based Radio or Music streaming websites. Just make sure that the web browser which you’re using is compatible and comes with easy to use navigation.
