Within the Spotify app lies other applications that you can download. And one of our favourites has to be musiXmatch that will give you the crowd-sourced lyrics for whichever song you’re listening to. And if you’re feeling particularly generous and the lyrics for a particular song don’t exist, you can contribute.

Make it happen: Go to App Finder in the sidebar of the app and download musiXmatch for it to automatically appear in your sidebar. After which, you can just play any song, click on musiXmatch in the sidebar and the lyrics will start scrolling by. Perfect for an impromptu sing-along session at your house party, except if you're listening to electronic music.

First, the app offers you to change some of the permissions on your device, so that, for example, it could work simultaneously with other apps on your phone. Then, it is time for the magic to begin! As soon as you start playing a song on your device, the app will turn on the floating mode (if you allow it to) – a little window on your screen. Hey chixies, there isn't a way to see lyrics on the desktop app. Mobile users can get lyrics and annotations on some tracks via the partnership with Genius.
